Iberdrola Renovables commissions the Amelecourt wind farm, with 11.5 MW of power, in France

Iberdrola Renovables has completed commissioning of a new wind farm in France, called Amelecourt and located in the Northeast of the country, close to the German border. Mecasolar has surpassed the 140 MW mark in orders for 2008. Wärtsilä receives its first order for 20V46F engines and it’s for power plant in Brazil 

The company has received an order for a power plant, valued at 80 million euros, to be delivered to Brazil. This new order has been placed by Maracanaú Geradora de Energia. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract is for a 168 MWe power plant to be installed at Fortaleza, in Ceará State in northeastern Brazil. Read More…

Concentrix presents its optimized concentrador PV system

A new record was set by Concentrix Solar in Freiburg, Germany for its concentrator PV system. During the measurement period in May 2008, AC system efficiencies of 23% and higher were measured under normal operating conditions for a demonstration system located at the test site of the new partner Abengoa Solar in Seville, Spain. Fungus genome opens pathways to next-generation biofuels

A team of French and US researchers has completed sequencing the entire genome of Trichoderma reesei, a fungus which is best known for its ability to break down and convert plant biomass into simple sugars.
