Schott Solar gets solar cells orders for 17.5 megawatt (MW) nominal power

Fujipream will use products from the SmartSolarFab of Schott Solar. The contract includes that the second mentioned will deliver to the "Clean Eco Energy" business unit of this growing electronic company from the third quarter of2008 until 2011 multi-crystalline 6-inch solar cells. Q-Cells is to invest in Mexico

German solar cell producer Q-Cells, the world’s largest producer of solar cells, has agreed with the Mexican Federal Government, the Government of the State of Baja California and Silicon Border Development to build a production complex for thin-film modules in Mexicali, the state capital of Baja California, close to the United States border. Aleo solar steps up presence in the important Italian market

Aleo Solar has announced that it acquired numerous new customers at Solarexpo in Verona from 15 to 17 May. In January, the company had established a subsidiary, Aleo Solar Italia, with the aim of expanding its business activities in Italy. Applied Materials selected by Abu Dhabi’s Masdar to build 210 MW of solar module production capacity

As part of its Masdar Initiative, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy is significantly expanding its investment in solar energy by contracting with Applied Materials to purchase three SunFab thin film lines for producing solar modules. With an optional tandem junction upgrade, these lines are expected to annually produce modules with a targeted capacity of up to 210 MW. Read More…

 

Deep water Gunashli production begins on schedule in the Caspian

The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), operated by BP, today announced the start-up of oil production from the Deep Water Gunashli (DWG) platform complex as scheduled. Telvent to develop control systems for Abengoa Solar's Spanish photovoltaic plants

The IT company Telvent announced that it will implement the control systems for the photovoltaic technology plants being built by Abengoa Solar in Casquemada (132 heliostats) and Linares-Bailén (132 heliostats), in Spain, each with a 1.89 MW power output capacity. Read More…

 

Ersol signs solar cell supply contract for a total of 250 MWp

Ersol Solar Energy concluded a cell supply contract with Aleo Solar. The contract volume amounts to about 250 MWp. Crystalline silicon solar cells are to be supplied to Prenzlau module producer Aleo Solar over a period of 12 years starting in 2008. The conclusion of this latest contract marked an increase in Errol’s order volume for solar cells to well over 3 billion euros. Read More…

Nordex obtains orders from Turkey up to 210 MW

Nordex has scored points again in Turkey: Power station operator Bilgin Enerji, Ankara, plans to install wind farms with up to 210 MW in the West of Turkey in the coming two years. The company is to supply the turbines from its proven N90 range with a nominal output of 2,500 kW each. Read More…

 

SunPower completes two solar power plants in Spain

The company has announced the completion of two solar-electric power plants in Spain, totaling 8.7 megawatts. The two plants, located in Llerena and Lebrija, were developed by Solarpack, a Spanish company specializing in renewable energy development, investment, consulting and services. Read More…
