world trade week NYC. The Global Green Award is an annual award that acknowledges exemplary leadership in promoting environmental sustainability and economic development around the globe. Astonfield was nominated for the award by the U.S. Department of Commerce in recognition for its leadership and success in promoting the scale up of renewable energy solutions in emerging markets such as India. "We have a longstanding relationship with Astonfield Renewables, and we are pleased to learn they are receiving this award acknowledging their export success and work in India," commented Ryan Hollowell, trade specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service in New York City. The award was presented at this year's World Trade Week event in New York City on May 17 by Christine C. Quinn, Speaker, New York City Council. The steering committee responsible for determining award winners includes representatives of the US Department of Commerce, The World Trade Centers Association, The United States Council for International Business and The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
